Our participation in Christ’s sacrifice. CCC 618
Martyr – A person who willingly suffers death rather than renounce his or her religion.
We are called to be Martyrs in our lives according to Matthew 16:24 “If anyone is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
When we are persecuted as Christians, we are expected to become symbols of exceptional leadership and heroism in the face of difficult circumstances and in time of suffering.
Suffering though an experience of unpleasantness, we as Christians are called to endure with grace and without complaint until the hour when we too can say ” It is finished.”
